For decades news outlets have made it common practice to capture our attention by presenting the news in a way that capitalizes on sadness, negativity, disappointment, anger and fear. As a society we’ve been trained not to redirect our attention when we see something that causes us pain. Instead we focus on it and internalize the message which can cause all the heavy emotions mentioned earlier. It’s up to you to choose your mental state of being, to decide what thoughts and messages you want taking residence in your mind.
